PC Spec for DV Camcorder?

I have a Celeron 2.4 ghz, 256 mb PC2100 (266mhz) ram and a 40 gig 7200 rpm hard drive and i was wondering if this PC was powerfull enough to transfer DV footage from a camcorder to a PC burner via fire wire?

Cheers.

Yes - sounds OK but your hard drive size is a bit margial, at about 15Gb for one hours DV plus another 10-15Gb for editing (music, narration, titles etc.) your very soon going to run out of space, consider upgrading you HDD, or adding a second HDD either internally or externally via firewire.

I agree with the above advise. Disk space will be eaten up at an alarming rate once you start capturing video.
Also you didn't say which version of Windows you have installed. You need to have Win 98SE or later to used firewire. If budget permits I would also recommend upgrading the RAM as this will improve performance greatly and should only cost a little extra.

Mark.
