Hi

Does anyone know of a camcorder that records in HD and also allows you to take stills from a video that you take to create photos?
Dont really want to spend a fortune, so do you think a Camera would be better with HD record option?

all hd cams take stills as far as i know but only the top of the range ones like the sony 500/520s take stills as good as moderate digital cameras, but even basic stills from a limited 4 megapix machine look ok for 4x3 prints but not for serious pc work.

I got a
SPEED HD-8TZ 1080p High Definition Video Camera with HDMI output
from Top Banana off Amazon UK
It cost around £160 ( No SD card included ).
It also takes still pictures and a reasonable flash to as well.

Obviously there are better cameras costing more money.

But it does take reasonable pictures for the price.
