Which Camcorder?

Okay, so here goes...
I'm looking to buy my first camcorder, however I have had experience with using them before ad I am a fast learner - so ease of use is not a major issue. I've been looking online for weeks and reading different reviews, but I still can't seem to find the right one.
I will not need a camcorder for holidays and general family films, as my aim is to use it to make short scripted films. So I would like it to be as proffesional as I can get for my money, the only trouble being that I am a student and therefore only have about £500 to spend.
Anyone got any recomendations? I'd really appreciate it!
