Studio 12 - AVCHD - WMV

I am making a movie i studio 12 from AVCHD. If I make it as wmv it loses red tone and looks washed out no matter what option I choose. If I make it as mpeg 2 it's perfect. But wmv is better option for giving it to people to playback. anyone else come across this issue of colour loss going to wmv? a way around? any help appreciated.

Apart from file size and email attachements mpeg2 is better than wmv
Im not sure why wmv is like that on S12 but do you have wm9 encoder installed on your system?
Also, may not be a bad idea to convert to wmv outside s12

I have just checked a clip converted from 1920x1080 AVCHD to WMV, retaining the same size. There is some muting of reds, but not excessively so in the clip I converted. I guess its a function of the much lower bitrate of the WMV encoding process - about 1/3 the file size of the AVCHD file.
