Panasonic RX2 internal battery

Hello
I have an old Panasonic RX2 video camera, uses small VHS tapes.
Works perfectly, nice x14 zoom and lovely pictures.
The internal battery that keeps the clock working when the main battery is disconnected is defunct.
Anyone know if it's simple to get at.
The manual states it's not user replacable.
I don't want to trash it as I can live with keep resetting the clock.
But if it's simple I might try and replace it.
Thanks
JimL
