Talking AVCHD editing software that works? or works 4 me?

Hey there

I have a panasonic HD camcorder and loads of great AVCHD footage.

The HD writer editing software that came with it works fine on my computer and playback is smooth, however this does not have the ability to edit or add sound and the transitions are basic.

I have downloaded a number of trial editors and not one of them can handle playback. either the picture or sound is stop starty. The ones I've tried are;
Neoscene
Cyberlink power director
Nero
Muvee reveal
Sorry I can't remember the full titles of all of them, but it was the up to date versions about 2 months ago, around six of them in all but I've deleted some since.

The camera records audio in 5.1 so I'd like a suite that can write in this and allow me to add standard stereo music preferably through at least 4 outputs(quadrophonic I spose)
Any suggestions? ideas?

Ta
Kevin

It may well be your PC that's not handling AVCHD playback well, though as you haven't listed your spec it's hard to say.

Some discussion of editing software in the threads linked in this post: would you recommend using for editing videos

The main two are Adobe Premiere Elements 8 or Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum. Both cost around £75.

There are 30 day trial versions available for both.
