Hi your dvd will/should be Mpeg You need to either import from the dvd or better still rip the dvd to our hard drive as a folder .Tell me when you Open the dvd on your pc is it showing as a Video ts folder .If not You need to Finalise it on your recorder

Re: vhs to dvd

Ok then you may be selecting the wrong file you only use the VTS vob ones and start with VTS O1 .1 and then .2 and so on.I dont know if this Programme reads from the disc if not You need to get it on yout drive

Re: vhs to dvd

After many attempts, after so many shortcomings encountered in the transfer old analog tapes to DVD, with several methods, the best method found by me as:

Capture DV format by digital analogue conversion (conversion we used a video camera that has 8 digital inputs trv110e composite and S-video)

- Capture and edit with Ulead studio9se or 8SE, then save in DV format, work in other versions of Ulead tremors occurred in viewing the DVD.

- Import the DV with Vegas 7, (for those who know this can try to stop using Ulead to capture and editing) after all the settings using the MPEG2 codec for Vegas MainConcept MPEG Encoder variable bitrate encoding 2 steps 2-5, 5 and 7.5 mbps, the next leave default settings.
Note: I tried to use Vegas for MPEG2 encoding.
The same parameters, using only encoder MainConcept MPEG Encoder variable bitrate encoding 2 steps 2-5,5 and 7.5 mbps, I have problems with tremors watching DVD. We also used the CCE, and other MPEG2 encoder without satisfaction.

- After a rendering of DV they import mpeg TMPGEnc DVD Author and ready in about 30 min DVD (there may be considerably shorter time if I use a computer art in my case I use a P4 at 3GHz with HT)

We used 3 bands with different processors Bt8xx CX and I do not know how, Philips ...., but better method as that described above have found (I mean without considerable investment, cheap)
If we are to edit, the quality and the fastest transfer method is a type dvdrecorder DMR-ES15, is old model but not the quality offered compared to other models from Samsung and LG Philips, the case examined, hardvare probably has better coding, I can not explain.
- To transfer VHS quality, using a quality player that is more difficult to find conditions: stereo sound equipment, SVHS, TB, denoise, sharpen, RGB correction.

Re: vhs to dvd

I cant see why you want to convert them if they were recorded to dvd you can edit them as they are .If you convert first then you are tempting fate in quality and possible sound sync as you will then need to convert back again to make a dvd .Which is why I suggested the Software
