Afghan Trip

Hi,
Im in the Army and off to Afghanistan in a few weeks time for 6 months. Got a Panasonic HDC SD10 to take with me. Also got a Netbook as laptop will take up much needed space on the way there and going around the country its easier to have a netbook in your back-pack.
I intend to do a "tour video" of the time out there. I have MS Movie Maker already but also got hold of Sony Vegas 7. But due to size and resolution of Netbook i cant view HD content on the laoptop easily using Sony Vegas.
I may have use of a full-size laptop out in Afghanistan, if so apart from MS Movie Maker, is there a good but more importantly easy to use Video Editor i can use with the full size one or should i stick with Sony?
Cheers
in advance

Re: Afghan Trip

Stick with Sony
Pinnacle Studio , and Corel Video Studio X2 are alternatives as is Adobe Premiere Element 7
Sony is however the kindest to hardware
Given that AVCHD editing is hardware intensive , I would also get the most Powerful laptop I can. In practice, a quad core system would be ideal
