Sony HVR-V1E - Seeking advice

Hey guys,

I will be using the Sony HVR-V1E this coming Monday in a very expensive one off green screen studio and will not have the chance to re-shoot. So, since I've never worked with HD before I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone may be able to answer here.

It it better to shoot in I or P?
Is it really that important to use Sony's Master tapes or can I shoot onto standard Sony mini dv tapes?
Is it possible to use standard firewire to pc to capture HD footage?
Can I use Adobe Premiere or FCP to capture? I have both at my disposal.

If there is anyone reading this that has used this camera and can think of any general advice or tips please let me know it would greatly appreciated! Thanks.

First if the shoot is very important and although i have never used them it could well be better to use master tapes, standard firewire is what you use to capture to ADOBE premier, i had a FX7 similar and a great cam but it did not have progressive my HV30 has both I and P recording and i usualy prefer interlaced but if i were doing a shoot like you are i would probobly use progressive.
Obviously use a tripod and best of luck.

Thanks Chris,

If I shoot in P and capture to my PC, would I need to do anything to the footage before I start keying/editing?
