Create bd to play avchd on ps3

I have got a jvc hd30 i want to put my stuff on to disk to play in dvd players or ps3

I have just copied the stuff i have recorder in the mpeg2 format which doesn't work

If i record in avchd then the mts files are played on my ps3 but i can only download them once direct to a disk which creates a nice background menu's e.t.c i think its like a bd

Then if i try to create another on the camcorder just says nothing new to download.

I have tried to just add other films to the disk but they don't play as when i create the bd first time round it creates loads of other files such as "buckup clpi stream playlist"

So what i want to know is how do other people put films on to a disk or create a bd with a very simple menu rather than just a list of short films as a new film is created every 4gb or every time you press strat/stop
