What is the best way to delete files off of my Sony HD Camcorder

Hopefully this is a dumb question but the only way I can see to delete files off of my Sony SR11e is to do it manually on the camcorder itself - is there any way to delete them from my PC?

Do it on the camcorder. Deleting files on the PC doesn't update the associated data files and can lead to a corrupted file structure.
