What camcorder for less than 500 quid?

Off to south africa next march and want a camcorder to take, what is good at the moment and is anything good coming up worth waiting for?

If you could stretch to £527.95 you could bag yourself a Sony TRV-33E which is an excellent machine. Checkout the review elsewhere on this site.

It has DV In/Out and will record pukka widescreen.

Of course there are other models as well, if I were you I'd make sure I get a unit with DV in & out, great for storing your finished masterpiece back onto tape without losing any quality.

Yep go to the extra 20 notes and get the TVR33. Excellent machine.
