firewire cable for trv33

Anyone know where I can get a good quality firewire cable at a resonable price. I think £25 for the Sony one is a bit too much to pay for a cable, looking to spend around £10.
Any recommendations?

Curry's, Comet, Dixons, PC world, Jessops, Tesco, Woolworths, etc. etc. etc.
if you want to do it online have a look at www.keene.co.uk (2metre long lead £9.99)

As said a firewire cable can be bought from just about anywhere that sells camcorders. The quality of a cable does not really come into it as it is digital and either works or doesn't!
If your PC already has a firewire port then you will probably need a 4 pin to 6 pin cable as the camcorder will need a 4 pin plug and most PC's will have a 6 pin connection on them, but some might also/instead have a 4 pin connector so its best to check (RTFM ).
If your PC does not already have a firewire port then you can get a PCI card for around £15 and this nearly always comes with a cable supplied.

Mark.

Mine didn't, I've just ordered a Belkin one from Expansys.

The box had everything except a firewire cable (which as I'm connecting to a laptop is 4 to 4 pin rather than 6 to 4).

For a chuckle I wandered into the Sony shop in Bluewater. They wanted £20 for a 2m Vivanco.

Dixons there weren't much better, their price for a 1.8m Belkin cable was in the region of £20 which seemed a bit excessive given some of the online prices.

Take a look at www.priceguideuk.com and www.pchound.com. These will let you comparison shop and see the final price including shipping.

Found one!!! After alot of browsing managed to find a belkin cable from novatech for £7.44!! Found a few other companies selling unbranded ones for less then a fiver but opted for the belkin as it appears to be better quality.
Belking cables were selling for £20 at pc world, comet etc....
Amazing what the difference can be if you look around.
