grainy looking video

Question grainy looking video

hi

i'm looking for some help really. i have created a video using power producer and the film was shot with a sony camcorder. the video has now been completed but when it plays it looks grainy/blocky. is there any reason why this is doing this and what can i do to stop this.

I'm not familliar with Power Producer,as long as you are confident that the problem is not with your origional footage then check that the output settings are exactly the same as the origional video.

You don't mention your cam model (SD or HD) or the output your trying to achieve, video file or DVD (DVD needs a high bitrate (larger file) for good quality)

i'm not sure on the model of the camcorder as it wasn't mind or i didn't use the camcorder. sorry not much help. i will double check the orginal files but they do seem ok. i am trying to produce a dvd

If you're making a DVD then check the output settings in your Video Editor, I would make sure it's set for DVD output at best quality and not VCD or such like.
