Thanks: Gave 3, Got 2 | Urgent Advice Required!
Hi,
Looking to order the Sony TRV33 before xmas. Just need to decide who to place the order with. Has anyone had any experience with dealing with either Pixmania or Panther Online?
They are the cheapest I've found for this camcorder.
Also advice why I should not buy the TRV33 would also be appreciated i.e new model coming out soon!!! The TRV33 was cheaper the its predecessor!!! The successor could be cheaper!
Thanks in advance for your help.

I would recommend letsgodigital, I bought my Sony TRV22 from them 6 months ago and the price still beats most other places.
You get good quality service from them too which is probably worth more a the end of the day

Letsgodigital are around £20 more than Panther and around £10 more then Pixmania.
But good service is worth pay an extra £20 for when spending over £500. Thanks for advice.

Try www.ajelectronics.co.uk
I got mine within a couple of days of ordering. Also, you get a UK model, something I think you'll find you won't with pixmania

I bought one last night from Jessops Bluewater. They had another in stock as well.
They price matched RGB Direct (£527.95) and we were dead chuffed.
I had to gently prod their Head Office to get them to agree to the match, initially their best offer was around £590. After some reminding that I'd bought from them before (a nice Canon Ixus 400) and that even Amazon had a better price than them, they reluctantly agreed to match the price. I also mentioned that if they didn't match it, I'd get the match at John Lewis instead and buy it from them.
The point to note is that a Jessops store will match another retailer within 20 miles of their store. I'm not quite sure what their rules are for strictly online outfits though.

Name and Shame!!!
John Lewis Nottingham won't price match the instore price (£539.99) of the TRV33 with RGB Direct.
Thought thats pretty poor really. Whats the point having a policy if its not up held.

They have got more picky with this in recent times.
How far is the store from RGB Direct? Sometimes they try to wriggle out claiming it's not a "local" retailer.
JL Bluewater will match with RGB Direct, I'd give them a ring and get it delivered by them (RGB delivery is free).
Ask for the undersales dept and get the price agreed in advance.
Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.
Placed the order now with Comet Online for £539.99, with the understanding that I can take the Camcorder instore if I have any problem.
Just a Tip for you, Amazon are doing the Sony Mini DV kit for £51. The battery supplied in the kit alone is worth that price.
Cheers.

Thanks for the tip, just one thing though.
I had a quick look and couldn't spot the kit, could you post a link?
Thanks.
