Problems Using Power Director 7

I’m a beginner and readily admit to being completely out of my depth.
I’ve a Panasonic HS9 Camcorder and until quite recently used the HD Writer software that came with the unit. Perhaps I should have left it at that, but I decided to try and be a little more adventurous so bought Power Director software.
The problems I keep coming across are many, but I’m hoping by reading and rereading the manual I will slowly come to be able to use it albeit in a small way.
Having just returned from visiting a grandson and his family I had many, many scenes stored on the camera’s HDD and simply downloaded them straight onto the PC. Now, when I attempt editing, I have an alert “TV Format Conflict warning…” message being displayed. What am I doing (or not) to generate this message? Another irritation is the fact that as I’m using PD7, I’m creating M2TS files in my documents folder, which I’m unable to open.
My wife keeps telling me that I’m too old to cope with the technology. She could be right, but that doesn’t mean one can’t try!
With best wishes

Re: Problems Using Power Director 7

One is never to old to learn! I have also been playing with PD7 but not sure if this will solve your message "problem" but no harm trying. Go to the Menu (the director chair icon) > Edit > Preferences. Under the General tab, there is a TV format selection for either NTSC or PAL. Change this to see if it stops the message from appearing. Good luck!
Which program you use that could not open the m2ts files, PD7 itself should not be a problem.

Re: Problems Using Power Director 7

Just to let you know that there is a very active forum for Power Director users at CyberLink Community Forum - Join the Community which should be able to help you.
Cheers,
Pete
