Hi Guys,

I have got this camcorder and was wondering if anyone can recommend any video editing software. I have tried Sony Vegas Platinum Pro 9 and Microsoft Movie Maker and these did not work.

A free or cheap option would be best

Not looking to do anything too fancy

There is no reason why Vegas should not work TBH .
What are you doing wrong? Are you using the trial version .even that does work
. WMM does have limited format support
DVD uses mpeg2 which Vegas edits quite well

Cheap is not always cheerful. Free is available but you might need several different software..

Seriously all modern software arr capable of editng from a DVD video
Have you finalised the disc?

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
As you can tell I am very new to video editing. I did only have the trial sony software which I have removed from my laptop. It was very slow to complete transitions, and the same with moviemaker. Maybe as you suggest I need to finalise my disc. On hols at the moment, but on my return home will try again. Many thanks
