Panasonic PC Connection Kit Wanted

I have a Panasonic Digital Video Camera, Model NV-DS5B which is still giving me good results. But I need a more efficient way of transferring video material from the film cassette to DVD. The camera is no longer made and I am looking for a PC Connection Kit cable Panasonic Reference No VW-DTA1E. I have already connected several Panasonic suppliers without any luck. Does anyone have one they no longer need or know where there is a genuine source?

Re: Panasonic PC Connection Kit Wanted

If you don't have any luck (and the item has been out of pruduction for some years now, AFAIK), you might try and make one. Or get your local tech to make one up for you.

The details of the connections are outlined here:

HACKING (about half way down the page, in the 'Panasonic Cameras' section).

The RS232 socket is a standard item from any electronics component supplier, and you can probably cut the RCA sockets from a standard AV lead, and just use the multipole jack plug and cable . Any tech should be able to work out the right leads to be soldered OK.

Not ideal, but if nobody has one going spare, it gives you an option to try.
