Question What are you storing edited HD video footage on?

Hello,

I bought a panasonic HD camcorder when my twins were born 4 months ago. Since then I've been filming to the SD card and storing the files on my PC's hard drive.

Once the video is edited I'm at a bit of a loss as to whether I should store the edited movies as:

- HD divx files
- Blu ray discs
- Standard def DVD
- High def AVCHD on DVD

Blu ray was my initial thought, I have a PS3. However the discs seem to be REALLY expensive.

High def video on a standard DVD means rather short movies I am guessing - not sure how long they can be.

What are you guys doing with it? Also, do you keep your original footage? It seems almost cheaper to archive that on actual hard drives or SD cards than using blu ray burner!

Thanks in advance for your advice,
Dub.

Re: What are you storing edited HD video footage on?

I just keep my edited HD files as Xvid -or MP4 -or AVCHD - on my external hard drive. Plug that into my £70 WDTV player, plug the player into my HDTV via HDMI and just play the files. Plays nearly every format I throw at it!
No messing about with Blu-ray discs for me -I'm still trying to decide where to keep all my standard DVDs, let alone do the disc thing all over again !
