need help with sony handycam

i need to get a lead to link my sony handycam ccd-trv13e to my computer, but i dont know where to get one, or if there is one. Can anyone help?

plus do i need software for it?

The TRV-13e is AFAIK a Video8 camcorder which is an analogue system. Therefore to get the video onto the PC you need a device to convert the analogue signal to digital.

The cheap option is a USB device such as those from Dazzle - see Here for an example.
Probably the quickest & easiest option is to get a standalone DVD recorder. One with an HDD will give the option of doing some basic editing before burning to a DVD. You can if required get the video off the DVD and onto the PC for editing.
The best quality option, but also most expensive will be the Canopus (or similar) ADVC capture devices - see Here.
Or if you can find a Sony Digital 8 camcorder that also plays analogue tapes (most don't) you can use that in the same way as the Canopus ADVC converters to get the video onto the PC.
