Basicly I am looking for a camera for £650 at most, I just want to use it for capturing footage on days out, nothing in particular. But I LOVE high quality, the higher quality the better ! I want a hard drive based camcorder, but with persuasion I may consider sdhc camcorders.
It seems for my budget the Canon Hg20 is supreme in quality. I value sharpness and clarity most, vivid colours 2nd and 3rd the cameras ability to cope with low light.
However, I like to be able to use manual focus and have hears the canons manual focus control is bad. So am also looking at the Sony hdr sr11 because of it's focusing ring at the front, and the high res LCD screen. But then the sharpness and clarity arn't quite as good as the Canon HG20 from what I've heard which makes it a difficult decision. Although I also appreciate the sony's superior quality construction.
I have narrowed it down to these 2 'corders, so please express your opinions on both of them, and any other reccomendations if you have them !
My pc should be adequate for edditing as I am an avid gamer, so I have an Intel core i7 @ 4ghz
12gb Ddr3 ram
GTX 295
and a big 1.5tb HDD to store everything on !
Thanks.
Sorry if this post looks like crap, it's done off my new iPhone 3gs which I'm not familiar with yet !
