Video Capture Device Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good quality video capture device please? My source is an analogue 8mm camcorder. I don't want to do anything else with it like watch TV, record TV, listen to radio etc, just capture my video images without pixellation and dropped frames I don't even need any software, got all that.

I *had* been using the (rubbish) GigaPocket card in my Sony Vaio but the colours are awful and fast action pixellates.

Thanks.

Re: Video Capture Device Recommendation

The best convertors are considered by many to be The Grass Valley/Canopus ADVC55 or the ADVC110. See here

Many years ago I bought a Canopus ADVC100 used it to convert all my analogue video and then sold it for not much less than I paid for it. They are considerably more expensive than other convertors but the quality cannot be beaten. They convert to DV AVI's and can then be edited just like any other DV file.
