Hi. I would be eternally grateful is someone could help me with a problem I'm having. I have a Sony HDR-DR10 Camcorder. I am able to download pictures to my computer and burn to DVD in HD quality. However, it won't play on my HD DVD player. Is it possible? From what I've read, they can only be viewed on a blu-ray player. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Hi STERLITZ, yes if your files are AVCHD then the resulting DVD can only be played on Blue-ray equipment.

Actually the HD DVD standard along with Blu ray support h.264 files
They also support mpeg2 and VC1
So in theory you should be able to view AVCHD sourced files on an HD DVD player
However you need to create a "mini HD-DVD disc". HD DVD players will not play an "AVCHD disc" ( That is BD specific) or DVD data disc with AVCHD files ( In fact many BD players wont play that either except the PS3)
Many editing software , and aurthoring software such as Ulead MF6+ can help you create a "mini" HD DVD disc ( on DVD media) from your AVCHD files
