Hey Folks

Please can anybody help a novice get some footage from my video camera to a DVD!

Ive got a Panasonic SD20 and put all of the software that came with it onto my laptop. Ive imported the footage to the laptop but when I go into the Panasonic HD Writer software (what came with the camcorder) to create a DVD, it keeps telling me that it cannot find accesible driver/adapter/video camera and to connect the device correctly.

Surely the camcorder does not need to be connected to the laptop to create a DVD if I have already imported the footage to the laptop?

AM I missing something here or am I being really stupid?

Appreciate any replies, as I really am stuck

Have you tried posting in the dedicated SD20 thread? Your subject line doesn't mention the SD20 so your question might have been overlooked by other SD20 owners.
