I'm editing video from a Sony camcorder HDR-SR10E - is it possible for me to get a separate audio track using Nero 9? (getting it with the video at the moment)

If not, anyone know if it's possible with different editing software?

It is possible with virtually all current editing software. Including Nero Vision
It will need to be in the timeline view rather than storyboard and you may need to disband audio and video as this may not be on by default
However the ability to manipulate and accuracy of this varies for software to software
Sony Vegas is generally versatile as is Adobe Premiere Elements but depending on how much you want to do I think they are all able
