HF 200 to dvd

I have searched forums for hours and can't find an answer....I just bought a Cannon HF200 and want to burn to dvd, I believe you can only burn to dvd-r not a +r, please confirm. I have put my movies on my computer and now I want to burn to dvd. Can anyone send me a link to how to get this done I can't find any steps. I don't care if I'm burning to HD avchd or to a normal dvd. Is there not a simple way of getting this done? Should I buy new software vs the image stuff it comes with, and if so which is the simplest brand? I'm not interested in editing the movies although that might come down the line. I'm not totally tech stupid but I'm thinking that it shouldn't bee this hard.....

Pls any and all suggetions wanted!!!

I'm trying to burn via my pc not just from the camcorder to dvd, I've already downloaded my movie clips

You say you have put your movies on your pc but are you using software pinnacle etc, if so it will give you the option of what type of disc you want to make, dvd will be one of the options and then you can burn to disc, there should not be a problem with - or + rs but - may be the better option.

You can burn to either, The RW versions tend to be more temperamental though

You can burn the movies as
Data
SD DVD video
or
AVCHD disc

Any software which accepts AVCHD files should help. ..
Simple is subjective. All have a learning curve , some steeper than others but I think they are all " simple" especially the pocket friendly software. Even Vegas ( the full version ) isnt hard .
Examples abound. Nero Vision ( Part of the Nero Suite), Adobe Premiere Elements 7, Sony Vegas MS 9 Platinum. Ulead Movie Factory 6+, Roxio 209 are some of the few Ive used . There are others
Pinacle Studio I have installed but never got round to using it but I have tried it or one.. It was Ok ( when it works it is very good)
There Lots of examples: None is made deliberately hard to use. Just make sure your PC is up to it

Re: HF 200 to dvd

I wanted to use the imagemixer 3 v5.0 that came with the camera but it's not clear on how to burn. When I'm looking at my window it shows all my downloaded videos but the only thing close to a burn button is the export via file tab. Am I missing software? The other software on my computer is the very old Roxio media creator 7 and I don't believe it does avchd, although I would be happy with even something less than that. I can't even do a drag/drop to that software.

Am I missing something, it feels like it.

When I plug the camera into my computer it doesn't even recognize it....

Re: HF 200 to dvd

Bear in mind -R is the more reliable option i have found discs i have made using + R do not always work on older dvd players , i found this to my cost last week + R discs for a relation had to be redone using - R as they would not play in their oldish moderate player alsoi would not advise RW ,separate software is the way to go it will give you the option of BLU RAY which is leagues better than dvd and has far more storage than avchd, also blu ray discs can be purchased for 2£ or less now.
