video resizing advice for youtube needed please

I have just taken some video on my Finepix J150 which is default at 640x480
The file size is huge at 192Mb
I have used Virtualdub to reduce the file size by 50% then by a further 50% and saved it as an AVI and its still huge.

The file is taking days ...weeks to upload

How should I reduce the file size and retain sufficient picture quality ?
the length is about 1min56secs at 36fps
