what do you play your HD footage on

really wondering what you guys all use to play your footage onto your TV's as I am looking to get a new camcorder that will either be 720p or 1080P and I have downloaded a couple of clips from people on this site and my struggles to play the bloody things... do you all have really powerful pc's connected to your tv's or do you just drag the footage onto your PC for storage and then back onto the sd card to play it back through the camcorder onto the TV???

I have in the past made dvd's of the footage, but then it seems pointless having 720 or 1080 if I am just going to convert them into dvd.

So whats the best way to actually watch the lovely 720 or 1080 footage?

Cheers

Re: what do you play your HD footage on

Hi,
I have Panasonic BD35 Blu ray player and it can play footage from my Canon HFS100 if I plug SD card in to it. It can also play it if I burn the contents of the SD card on Blu Ray. Navigation is a bit limited though. I will start editing and authoring my videos on Blu Ray at some point but for now saving them on Blu Ray is good for my purpose…
I have Quad core CPU and do not have any problems playing AVCHD video back on it. I use Totalmedia theatre 3.

Hope it helps
