Problems with Camcorder Canon MD160

I recorded a film on to the tape using this camcorder and have tried playing it back and large grey lines appear all the way through the recording. I want to know if any one has experienced this problem and how I can solve it as I want to edit the film. Please help

Re: Problems with Camcorder Canon MD160

I could be wrong, but my guess is that you may have been got at by Copy Protection Features built in to your camcorder sensing that you're recording a film. OR, your heads need cleaning - assuming that your camcorder has heads, which it appears to have. Do you get the lines when shooting any other material - which are not films?

Another suggestion - could your film have been NTSC and your camera running in PAL? or Vice versa.

FTR I've never used any cleaning tape in my camcorders. I've relied on the Sony tapes to do the cleaning as they play.
