Batteries - Sony HDR XR200

I've just plumped for one of these bad boys and the camera will be used on Safari.

I want to buy a battery (will go down the official Sony ones only) but want to know if any of you guys have recommendations?

I'm currently thinking of getting the NP-FH70 as my spare. Anyone have experience of this and how long it lasts/charges?

Is it worth me pushing the boat out even further and going for the 100 (I hear this portrudes somewhat?)

Thanks guys

I've had the NP-FH70 as my main battery for my HDR-HC5 for the last 18 months. Physically it's the same size as the battery supplied, FH60, but has lots more capacity, and I've never run it down so far. Takes around 3 hours to charge fully. Claims > 220 minutes but that's on a different camera. I expect the manual lists the times?

On a previous Sony camera, I did get a larger battery which protruded, and preferred not to go down that route with my current camera.

Good luck on safari.

Yep, I've got a NP-FH100 for my camcorder. I ordered it online and did not realise how large it was or I wouldn't have bought it. The plus side is that I get over 6 hours of charge in it.
