Can I copy AVCHD files back to camcorder for playback..?

I recently bought a Sony HDR-CX105 HD camcorder, and have so far been very impressed with the results. It has 8GB internal memory, and the option to add a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo up to 16GB.

Once I've taken my footage, I connect it to my computer and it appears as a flash drive. I then copy the files to my PC for backup and playback.

However - I now want to copy some files BACK to the camcorder, so I can connect it to my parents HD TV to show them some holiday movies. It turns out that the Sony's internal memory is read-only, so I cannot put the files back - fair enough I guess.

If I were to buy a Memory Stick Pro Duo, would I be able to put my files onto this (with correct directories etc), put this into the camcorder, and then play back these files?

Please help, as I'm reluctant to spend £30 on a card to find that it will not work

You can try but it may be that once edited the files cannot be replayed
If it doesnt work you stil have your card for own use
Of course if your folk have Blu ray you might want to create AVCDH discs

Re: Can I copy AVCHD files back to camcorder for playback..?

Hi Senu, thanks.

The clips have not been edited, they are the raw files taken straight from the camera. I am hoping that they could just be copied back and the cam wouldn't know any difference?
