Canon HG10 Vs Sony SR11

Still undecided as to what to do. I'm going to be using it for snapshots too, so more of a hybrid than anything.

Which one will be better? I will be recording and snapshotting on a white vinyl background so i need custom white balancing and good exposure settings.

The SR11
However I always hesitate to give camcorders the thumbs up for stills

Looks ok to me here:

If i bought an SR11 from america, i found it cheap, would there be any bad points to it? It's all going to be edited footage.
