Sony HDR-XR200VE or HDR - XR105E

Hi Guys,

I'm after a camcorder to take with me when I go on my honeymoon. I've seen the above two camcorders. There is about £100 price difference between the two.

Which one would you go for and why?

Thanks

The main feature differences aren't outstanding.

Better Optical zoom
Better Digital zoom
40gb more hard drive space
Optical steadyshot instead of just steadyshot

They are the only benefits to the XR200VE.

I'm looking at the XR105 now but also looking at the older SR11.

Cheers Andy. Any idea of the number of hours you can record on a 80gb using full hd?

I would argue that the improved image stabilisation and zoom range justifies the additional cost.

You should get a touch over nine hours of full resolution video with the 80GB hard drive.

Comet are doing the XR200VE for £600 (using voucher code) and Sony are running a cash back offer of £50. So £550 seems a decent price compared to £800 from the Sony shops!
