JVC Everio GZ-MG505 HELP find data

Hi Everyone.

Certainly been a while since I posted on here, but I have come up against an issue.

I am trying to download the files from my Everio MG505EK, plug in the USB cable as I have on countless times before, access My Computer (WinXP) and see the Everio HDD drive, access that, go into SD_Data directory and see a couple of folders, but these contain movies up to mid 2008. I cannot see anything that I have recorded up until the other day.

Has anyone come across this issue before? I have tried plugging into another PC, using another cable, but still cannot see the movies....BUT.....I can see them on the camera viewer and actually play the movies on the camera, but Windows does not see them.

I could really use some help and would appreciate it, as I would hate to lose the movies I have on there

Re: JVC Everio GZ-MG505 HELP find data

Got onto JVC, only thing they could recommend is hooking up to a PC with a Video capture card, run the movie and record it live. Looks as if the video library got corrupted, as I can now record and view movies, except for the ones I have already mentioned that I had issues with. I went through and deleted all the old movies after backing up to my USB HDD and then Protect/UnProtect the files.

So I am on the look out for someone with a PC with capture card or build a cheapy myself

You could record from the camcorder to a settop DVD recorder , and save yourself the hassle of getting a capture card
