Need help editing large video with Roxio MyDVD

If anyone here has used the Roxio suite of products for video editing, I'd appreciate your help.

I have a large video file (with its own audio) that I am trying to trim for length, by editing out several segments. I did this with Roxio MyDVD, and saved it as a MyDVD file. On playback, the edited segments appear with their corresponding audio. So far, so good.
When I then do a 'Save output as' to an MPEG2 file (so I can upload my video), I find the audio doesnt edit along with the video. For instance, if I have a 25 minute video originally, and only save minutes 3-5 followed by minutes 8-10, the mpeg file still has the first 4 minutes of audio, although the video is accurately edited. Very annoying!

What am I doing wrong ? and how do I edit the audio corresponding to the video ? Note that I have no problems when I save it as a Roxio MyDVD production. Problem only occurs when I save it as an MPEG2. I need it to be MPEG, so any tips are greatly useful !

Thanks much.
