Exclamation Putting footage back on Sony HDR-HC5E HDV Camcorder - How do you do it???

Putting footage back on Sony HDR-HC5E HDV Camcorder - How do you do it???

I've edited a lot of footage from my camcorder on my desktop computer but now I want to get the edited footage from the computer back on MiniDV tapes as an original copy (other than the Hard Drive copies).

Can this be done with my camcorder and how is it done?
If not then do you have any suggestions for getting the footage back on MiniDV tapes??

Many Thanks

You need to use editing software with an output-to-tape option (sometimes called "print to tape").

Which software did you use?
As stated above, the Camcorder ( tape) to PCs is a two way flow and it is easily possible

I use the software that came the camera (Sony Picture Utility). There is an option to export to HandyCam (Tape) but i cannot click on it.

The free Movie Maker program that is part of WinXP or Vista HP/Ultimate has an option to write DV .AVI files back to the camcorder. I would advise trying this as it is free and quick & easy to learn.

Mark.

Re: Putting footage back on Sony HDR-HC5E HDV Camcorder - How do you do it???

The program (Sony Picture Motion Utility) I use does have this option but whenever I take a file (.m2t) out and edited it elsewhere, the program doesn't recognise it anymore so I can't open it using the Sony Program and export it to MiniDV Tape.

Any ideas??

Im not sure you need that program to return it to tape TBH

Whch ever program you edited the file with should have the capability to help you return it to tape
In short. you dont need the Sony PMU. I have 2 Sony HDV camcorders neither of which came with any software
