Sony HDR-HC5E. Optimal Settings

Hi,

This is my first cam. I've had this HDV Camcorder for a while now and can't really fault it.

Outdoors (or Light) I get a very good, clear picture but indoors (or not very light) the colours don't seem too great and the picture becomes a bit blurry.

I've kept it on the factory settings and havn't played about with the colour etc. options much (It's my first cam so I'm not very good at it ).

So anybody have any suggestions or know the optimal settings??

Any thoughts, as ever all help gratefully received!

Re: Sony HDR-HC5E. Optimal Settings

I think you might find this is a result of the camcorder's limitations - not the settings used. I also have a Sony HD camcorder (HDR-CX6EK), and this suffers the same quality loss when shooting in low light.

The only thing I could suggest is that you try is some of the 'scene' modes as opposed to leaving it on automatic when shooting in low light. Most Sony camcorders I've used have several modes for low light such as 'fireworks', 'twilight' etc.
