Sony HDR-TG3

Hi Everyone.
Can anyone advise on the quality of the standard definition with this model,as I would still like to edit on my PC and burn to disc for family and friends.
Thank you all.
Regards.
Bob

Re: Sony HDR-TG3

My advice would be to record in high definition, and use the editing software on your computer to downscale to standard definition for DVD (mpeg2). That way you'll still have high definition source video.

Re: Sony HDR-TG3

I agree with Andrew but if you know your footage is definitely needed as SD only..
For experimentation you could shoot with HD , then SD a similar or identical short 5 min footage then compare the results of the native SD with thse from the downscacled HD

FWIW The advantage with HDV tape s that you can shoot SD , shoot HDV but capture as SD but anecdotally capturing as HD and then donconverting in software to SD looks better ( but takes more time to achieve)
