Beginning to lose patience with footage from my Panny HD Camcorder......lol

Howdy folks,

Really need some advice here......

I didn't realise how difficult it would be to get footage recorded from my Panasonic HDC-SD5.......

I'm beginning to think that it's too new a technology to get the software you need to get the recordings onto a standard DVD so that you can simply insert the disc and watch on any conventional DVD player.

I can watch stuff direct from laptop or obviously by plugging the camera into the LCD....

But if I've recorded stuff for other people or want to share what I have it's so difficult infact I haven't achieved it yet !!! ;0)

So can I ask you kind people for some advice on what software tool I need, I currently have :-

Panasonic HD Writer which lets you extract from the camera to a PC, but that creates them in MTS file format, I can view these on my PC,

But how do I convert that so it goes onto a DVD.

I also have Pinaccle Studio Plus, and a trial version of Powerdvd9, and also something called AVS video tools (full version).

Helppppppppppppppppp !!!!!

thanks

Pile

Windows or Mac?

If it's Windows then Sony Vegas 7 and above( to edit ) and DVD Architect to construct DVD. One of the "Creative" packages for HD.

If it's a Mac then iMovie and iDVD can do it ( using an Apple Intermediate Codec ). Also First Cut Express or Final Cut Pro.

I had similar issues when I first got my Sony HD camcorder in October 2006. The Sony however came with a basic set of programs to edit and burn.

Try googleing " avchd editing & burning software ".

m2t and m2ts are both HD in the AVCHD format ( I think ).

Hi
I have the Panosonic HDC-SD5 Video Camera - a superb product.
Yes I also load the images into my computer via HD Writer.
Then use Pinnacle Ultimate V12 to edit and create my DVD "Masterpiece" !!!!
You can always convert the images first in HD Writer into MPEG2 files, before editing with Pinnacle if you find that easier.
Pinnacle is a great editing program to.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Cheers.
