Capturing PS3 game play via a dazzle capture card

Hey i have been thinking amount buying a dazzle to capture my PS3 game play and have a few questions to ask regarding the dazzle.

1.Will the video or audio lag if i extend the USB connector to connect to my PC
2. Is there any difference in video quality between recording software for example windows movie maker and pinnacle studio 11 because the platinum version comes with pinnacle studio 11 but is £10 more and i already have sony vegas to edit video
