Re: I'm having trouble getting footage from my sony sr10 into adobe premiere pro cs4!

the camera was plugged in via usb, i then transfered the mpeg files from my camera into a file on my desktop and then i was opening them into cs4 via the media browser in the bottom left corner of the cs4 screen, I have used APP before in college and used a firewire cable to capture but i dont have one at the minute, Also I dont know which sequence preset to choose when opening a new project in APP? your help will be muchly appreciated!

Re: I'm having trouble getting footage from my sony sr10 into adobe premiere pro cs4!

if you only have the mts files on your PC then go to file -> import (or drag and drop into the window in the top left)

the media browser is best to browse to the AVCHD/BDMV folder on the camera itself, you can then edit the footage and save it out to your PC without copying to your PC in the 1st place

for settings, I use AVCHD 1080i 25fps as I am in the UK with a UK camera though I export at 23.97fps 1080p as I burn Blu-rays

Re: I'm having trouble getting footage from my sony sr10 into adobe premiere pro cs4!

don't drag into the media browser (bottom left), drag into the assets window (top left)
try file -> import

you don't need firewire and no, there's no port on the camera

the window I'm talking about is in the top left of this screen shot I found (with the "name" and "label" headers):
http://www.jon4lakers.com/storage/Picture%2012.png

when you get an error can you show me a screenshot? (hold down Alt and press Prt Scrn, then open an image editor and paste [Ctrl and "v"] then save that as a jpeg and upload to somewhere like tinypic)
