Best SD - HDD Camcorder in the $500(CAD) range

I know that this forum must see questions like this all the time, and I apologize for being another one to ask. I am looking for a SD - HDD Camcorder in the $500(Canadian) range. Hopefully not any more money than this. For the most part, this camcorder will be used outside, but occasionally, it will also be used inside. Pretty much I am looking for the most bang for my buck. Image quality is probably my number 1 concern. Yes, I know if I wanted good image quality, I should go for HD, but I don't have an HD tv, so it wouldn't do me much better. I was looking at the Panasonic H80, and I really like the looks of it, but I just wanted to make sure that their wasn't something better out their for around the same price. Like I said, I apologize to be asking this question, but this is actually a very big purchase for my wife and I and I wanted to make sure that we got the best for what we were willing to spend.
