Which camera is better for independent film making? DVX100 or XL2?

Hey, I'm starting out as a independent film maker. I'm looking to buy my own camera which supplies that film look, at a reasonable cost. I found two cameras which i really like, but cant seem to make my mind up between the two, the first is the Panasonic DVX100 and the other is the Canon XL2.

The DVX has a very strong following (e.g., http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/), mainly owing to its excellent suite of manual controls.

yes dvx all the way, i still have 1 & use it all the time - the 1st camera i have actually learnt to love - the image has a certain something in progressive mode that the canon cant match, hard to explain but try & get a go with both - you'll see a difference. Also the audio pre amps are better i feel on the dvx, it is a much smaller form camera - easier to fit in tight spots & should still cost you a lot less than the canon. The only thing i can think of regards the canon is it is slightly sharper in 16:9 mode but unless you are projercting the image big you would be hard pushed to notice. Also the dvxuser site is the best resource for film makers there is, make use of it, any questions you may have there will be answers there. good luck with your choice
oh yeah try & get the 100b if possible, cleaner image & a few other nice additions from the 2 previous models
