Panasonic HDC HS9 £250, Good value ?

I have found an ex demonstration HDC HS9 for sale in a major retailer for £250, which I think seems quite a bargain.

Just looking for some confirmation that this is a good buy at that price and worth going for, instead of the newer SD20 at £328 ish ?

Main use will be normal family type things, Im aware of the possible low light problems, but it seems unless you spend lots of money then this is something that is quite common.

Thanks

Re: Panasonic HDC HS9 £250, Good value ?

The HS9 is (was?) the companion model to the SD9 and has a hard drive, which the SD20 - the successor to the SD9 - doesn't (though I expect there's an HS20 out there somewhere, too?). Yes, the low light capabilities aren't great, but the SD20 is no improvement there. Overall, I think it's a really good deal, so long as you've taken a look at it and feel happy about buying an ex-demo model.

And don't forget that the SD20 is about to be replaced by the SD10 which is a better and more compact model. Perhaps this will drive down the price of the remaining SD20's.

Hi,

Could you give me some links/info regarding the new SD10 camcorder as I'm interested in upgrading soon.

Thanks.

None available at the moment as Panasonic are trying to keep very hush hush about it while they clear the last SD20 models through. Will update as soon as I have some info.

The new models are now on the Panasonic website. http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_G...l#anker_289828
The qvc price is obviously low to shift the old models. I missed out on the 3 pay option on qvc and so haven't bought yet. I don't know if it will be repeated.
