No Call of Duty in 2009...

According to Activision Blizzard, IW are not releasing the next installment until 2010!

Xboxic » Activision Blizzard talks Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, and more

Quote:
the company also spent some time talking about Call of Duty 6. It confirmed it’s indeed being worked on by the maker of Call of Duty 4, Infinity Ward. The sad bit is that the game is not expected to come out until sometime in 2010, which means there will be no new Call of Duty iteration next year. Activision Blizzard intends to fill in the gap with loads of downloadable content for the upcoming Treyarch-developed Call of Duty: World at War.

I would be happy with another map pack for COD4. Another 6 maps should freshen things up for a while

I would love to see them make it so you can play by disabling certain features... 1 being grenades, and 2 being snipers.

Re: No Call of Duty in 2009...

Oh god! Why do we have to have 2 years of WaW (DLC etc), COD4 is in a different league, these games should have been released the other way around with COD4 getting new maps, game modes and possibly even a few more weapons/modified perks.

I really don't see how hard it would be to release a major patch to the game to bring it up to speed. It's not like they don't have the user base.

Re: No Call of Duty in 2009...

Just got COD4 game of the year addition and im so glad to have it back. I dont see myslef ever getting WaW either. I would like to see that disabling feature that Soldsoul said so i could turn off snipers. Snakes in the grass they are. I cant possibly wait that long for COD6. I just wish there was a way that we could demand DLC for cod4.

Here's a quote from that Eurogamer link:

Quote:
No-one will be shocked to learn that the next Call of Duty is returning to contemporary themes as we go back into an Infinity Ward year. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, sequel to last year's series high-point, was confirmed for an autumn 2009 release at the conference.

Re: No Call of Duty in 2009...

I hope we do see changes from COD4 as there were a couple of issues mainly spawning which annoyed me endlessly!

I enjoy the bigger maps on WAW but alot of the areas on the maps are not used at all. Spawning is still a major issue aswell as tanks reappearing once blown up....***?

Either way i'll by whatever COD produce.

I just pray that they lose Juggernaut, or at least limit it to the first 5 levels.

Re: No Call of Duty in 2009...

I'm sure it will be out in 09 :D I didn't play COD4 as much as I could have and the last week or so I have got hooked on it again so I'm hoping it will last me a while longer. So the wait wont be that bad :P

I just wish they added more content for it before WaW came out, but oh well!
