Call of Duty 3 Points Boosting Arrangement...

Hello everyone.

I'm sure there are some of you out there, like me, who have 1000G in both Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4, but are lacking the last few achievements in Call of Duty 3...

I personally need the "Major", "Colonel" and "General" achievements to complete my Call of Duty 3 list.

There is talk of the Call of Duty 3 servers being shut down once Call of Duty 5 comes out. I'm not sure how much proof there is that this is going to happen, but if it is, I would like to try to complete the last few achievements that I need.

I have been trying to do point boosting matches online with some Americans, but its proving difficult because of the time difference!

Is anybody out there willing to do CTF matches just for points? I'm sure there's more than just a few people who still need to get 40,000 points for that damn "General" achievement! I personally am on 2250 points.

What I propose is that UK players meet online as much as possible to play CTF for points, so that we can all get the achievements before it becomes impossible due to server closure.

I will start a list as the second post in this thread, then anybody who wants to join can post their GamerTag into the thread and I'll add you to the list.

I would ideally like to do the boosting on evenings, after 7pm. I can be online pretty much from 7pm until midnight most nights (except Tuesday and Wednesday).

Apparently you can earn up to around 1000 points per CTF match, so thats only 40 matches in order to get the achievements. If we could do, say 10 matches a night, it shouldn't take long at all to get all our achievements.

Apparently the easiest way to get people to all join a match together is to all search at the same time and all be on each others' "preferred" lists, so if you're interested, add the names in the list below to your friends list, send them a message telling them why you've added them, and also don't forget to make them preferred players.

Thanks everyone! Together we can get these last few achievements!

P.S. Please only add your name to the list if you are genuinely wanting to boost these points and can be around for at least 1 or 2 nights each week.

Me neither, but even so, I'd still like to finish my Call of Duty 3 achievements, and I'm pretty sure there are others out there who want them too.

Call of Duty 3 is a good game. Its just overshadowed by Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4, both of which are superior. I've been playing the Call of Duty 5 beta and it seems to be a step in the right direction for Treyarch.

Re: Call of Duty 3 Points Boosting Arrangement...

disagree with you. all that WaW adds is vehicles, which to be honest, should of been in cod4. and also, with playing bad company, maybe destructible enviroment would of been nice. not the whole map, just walls etc. i hate hitting somebody with a rocket, only for them to hide behind a war. its only the beta version tho, so time will tell
as for cod3, i may come on, as i plaed a few weeks back and it was full of yanks

I didn't mean Call of Duty 4 to Call of Duty 5 was a step in the right direction, I mean Treyarch's Call of Duty 3 to Call of Duty 5 was a step in the right direction. This time they've basically been given a winning formula on a plate - great engine and great perks system. Lets see what they can do with it.

I personally thought Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was a lot better than Battlefield Bad Company.

Anyway, back on subject. Please sign up people!

Re: Call of Duty 3 Points Boosting Arrangement...

An often overlooked fact is that IW and Treyarch both had input in the game engine and perk system, it's just that IW got to release COD4 first, if it had been the other way round Treyarch would of got all the praise.

Re: Call of Duty 3 Points Boosting Arrangement...

So nobody else for the UK list then?

I've just been playing a few matches online with some people in the US and managed to get over 4000 points in about an hour. One match, when everyone else got around 500-600 points, I managed to rack up 1600!

I've no idea how I managed that. But I seem to average about 1000 points per match. So if everyone from the UK plays together, we should be able to finish these achievements in about 40 matches, give or take a few.

Thats not too bad, about 13 hours!

Re: Call of Duty 3 Points Boosting Arrangement...

I can't believe any one actually wants to spend 13 hours doing this, let me get this right, you join a game, don't shoot each other and take turns running the flag from one side of the map to another. Whatever floats your boat I suppose, not really interested in gamer score so I guess that's why IMO it seems a bit strange. Good luck with your search.

Re: Call of Duty 3 Points Boosting Arrangement...

Thats not the case at all. There is absolutely no need to run the flag from one end of the map to the other - it would take forever to get 40,000 points that way.

8 people join a 4v4 game. 1 person from each team runs to the opposing flag, picks it up, then throws it to the other team (3 members sat right in front of the flag carrier). This resets the flag which is picked up & thrown again & again.

This way you can make about 2 or 3 points every couple of seconds. As I said, I managed to get 1600 points from 1 game, which is 20 minutes long. Some games, I only manage to get 600 - 700 points, so it averages out at about 1000 points each match for me.

Thats just 40 matches to get the achievement. 40 x 20 minutes is 800 minutes, which is approximately 13 hours.

Its not that bad, it can actually be quite good fun. You get to meet new people who share a common interest, and I basically just want 1000G in each of the games in my favourite game series on the 360.

I have 1000G in both Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4. 740G sticks out like a sore thumb on Call of Duty 3, and I want to rectify that.

A beta comes out just before the full game comes out, destructable walls would mean a whole design change as not only will the maps have to be rebuilt but also all the AI will have to change as they will have to react differently a beta will help iron out design flaws but will not change whats bad about the game

to be honest, im a little disappointed that nothing is destructible

The thing is we're not really playing, we're just boosting, so you won't get a good game out of it...
