Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the best weapons.

They all seem a lot more powerful, especially those blasted rifle's in the hands of a rapid fire controller (but that's another topic)

Currently I am using the MP40 with a Silencer.

What is that double barrel thing you get when you reach 150 kills with a said gun?

MP40 with dual mags at mo

though just got the M1 Grand last night so looking forward to using this. Played a yank the other night who used this really well at close and long range.

For me it has to be the Gewher 43 is it (sp?) Single shot rifle which is alot like the M14 in COD4 awesome at distance and can be fired as fast as you can pull the trigger for up close.

I cant use the sub machines in this game the clips are too small and i find the recoil terrible, in a way its good as im forced play a less "run n gun" type game and more a "stop n pop" game.

you 'stopped and popped' me a few times with it i must say.

I'm using the Thompson with red dot site and seem to be doing OK with that. I find you can move very quickly and the range is not bad. Also using the 'stopping power' and 'deep impact' perks. Special grenades, I'm using the gas. Thought the flares were not that good.

I must admit Chris you are pretty good with the MP40, i have started using that aswell.
Think i have been using the Grewhlar is it ? and the BAR.
Have been using the single shot rifles and tried out the Sniper rifle but am finding it really hard to get the shots.

Some of the single shot rifles are excellent and with Stopping Power equipped most times they can be one shot kills.

Not really settled on a gun as yet. Unlike COD4 i'm always happy with a M16

I think the guns come alive when you get the aperture (like the red dot) sights. So far I have mainly been using the MP40 and Grewlhar but will move onto the M1 next.

Not really experimented too much yet, found it quite hard to adapt to the older style weapons. However I felt I was getting into it after a 30 kill to 8 death ratio in a war game the other day

No worries mate, i was only lucky enough to get on as the Mrs was away for the night.

I have not tried the roof yet.

You broke my kill streak though

I'm finding it really easy to get kills with the MP40 with Aperture sight and stopping power. Also never leave home without the bazooka for the tanks in Roundhouse and the snipers in the tower in Castle

I like the first Semiauto rifle, (Arisaka I think), I have it suppressed at the moment as i haven't unlocked the app yet. It reminds me of a slightly underpowered G3, No recoil and 4 shots to down someone, (Instead of 3 with the G3).

The Thompson is pretty good in short bursts and has decent range for an SMG, small mag is a bit of a pain in the aerosol though.

I will be a little delayed in buying WaW as I think the November treat competition has been taken by GoW2.

Anyone else think the bazooka is under powered? I shot a tank twice last night and planted a sticky grenade on it and it still didn't blow up!! I guess it could be the tanks are too strong... Any thoughts?

Gun wise Thompson so far seems good with the sight, but always was a M1 man in COD3 so trying that tonight.

The MP40 is just in a different league to all the other guns available so far from any short -> medium distance. Also as it seems to take less time to take someone out with guns in this game, Stopping Power is no longer the necessity it once was, and as soon as Overkill (or equivalent) becomes available I will be using MP40 & Rifle/Sniper.

Slightly O/T but I really want to know what the "Reconnaissance" perk is, it sounds like a permanent UAV or something like that (I hope it's not as that would be massively unfair). It's definately not a UAV Jammer as that is the "Camouflage" perk that takes up perk 2, whereas "Reconnaissance" is perk 3.

EDIT - Just found out Reconnaissance shows artillery and tanks on map

Also, notice how this time you only get 2x Frag instead of 3x like in COD4, so to my mind Bouncing Betty's (Claymore) is now the way forward.

I think you do get 3, it's just two are stored as a perk and one is in your "regular" inventory.

I've been using the MP40 with a Silencer. I have tried the shot gun and am crap with it I have been going through all the guns and unlocked the stuff on them, but I think it will take me util the end of the beta to get the shot guns done

Got to agree with most the MP40 with silencer is great aswell as the type 100.

BUT

I have found a new friend which you get at level 37. The SGT44 ( MP44 COD4 gun ). This gun is awsome with stopping power & steady aim. It has the power & fire rate to nearly match an MP40 at close range and with short taps on the trigger will take anyone down at long distances

Do those bloody dogs count as the best weapon? I've never had less than 6 kills from unleashing them, frankly I think they're overpowered & often destroy the flow of a good War match.

My mate has a turbo controller but he is already amazingly good at the game, he is gold cross with all golden guns and he generally uses it when we play private matches, but he does take it into normal games. I personally don't agree with it, he apologises to the people in the lobby but hearing a pistol go off like a machine gun just cracks me up every time. Still cheating though

I can't understand why anyone would pay £60 for one of those! That said, I've just had my paintball marker modded with a response trigger which does the same. People on the end of them hate em (especially as getting hit by a paintball at 15 shots per second really does hurt, unlike shooting pixels )

Well he got his for £20 including the controller, as he needed a new controller, so he isn't entirely sad. Why people would pay £60 for one is beyond me

Why people would pay for one at all is beyond me. Cheating ruins the game for everyone.
