COD4 Map Pack..

Who would like to see a COD4 Map pack released? Alot of people have said they will stick with the game so some money could be made if they released one.

I for one would like to see a new pack as i will not be buying COD5.

Post if you want one, what maps you'd like to see and if you would pay for them!

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

I would like some new map packs for cod4 yes. But that is not going to happen. As we have seem from the beta. They are two different games set in different time. I say that i unsure of weather i will be buying cod5. For me COD4 was a fun game and as much as i like beta i still think its a step back. I have not ruled out buying it but it doesn't make me want to stop playing battle bad company.

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

I would love a map pack for COD 4 it would get me right back into it, ive been playing the beta and if im honest the only reason im enjoying it so much is because it plays like a map pack for COD 4 with worse weapons.

When i first played it i thought why didn't they just make this an expansion for COD4?

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

IW will be working on cod6 now wouldnt they so im not sure how long it would take them to make 2 or 3 new maps for 4 but it could be a possibility if there was enough demand and they knew about the demand.

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

I'd love to see some new maps for CoD4

I've pre-ordered WaW, but I still intend to play MW, some new maps would keep things fresh.

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

I would love more maps for COD4, would still buy WAW though. I can't see activision letting IW release any now though, as they want people to buy WAW.

Anyone know when Infinity Wards next COD is slated for release?

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

There IS a map pack coming out soon at the cost of around £40. It's called COD5.

Having played the Beta a while, that's all I can see that the "new" game is...a new set of maps.

What is different?

Even the weapons/ upgrades are the same, they just look a different shape on screen.

Ted.

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

Im one of the seven who want more maps but wont be buying cod5 will be at a later date though. tbh i only like two of the three new maps in the map pack kill house just really worked it really split the snipers apart from the machine gunners who battle it out in the middle and creek made a refreshing change with bright surroundings and pretty graphics but i hated chinatown wouldnt mind paying a couple points just for a replacement of china town.

I dont think the graphics are better. COD4 looks alot better. How are the weapons the same? They are WW2 weapons not modern ones. I was hoping it would be good but after playing the beta im going to stick with COD4. I'll get the new one when it comes down in price for a change now and again.

Tbh i'd be happy for IW to release a new game every two years like they do but release a new map pack in between without activision making one themselves, with an improvement in the single player mode because no one else can seem to make a decent single player war game.

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

The weapons are the same with just a different name.

Instead of acog you get a bolt on sight that does the same.

Instead of the red dot you get a sight with a little "v" shape.

Instead of a silencer they call it a supressor.

I have played COD 4 to death and probably won't get COD5 as it's an expensive map pack.

Theres about 7 G3 peashooter replicas in WAW and none of them as powerful as the G3 peashooter from COD4

Re: COD4 Map Pack..

I play COD4 online more than any other game so would like to see new maps but as mentioned before, IW maybe too busy making the next installment

The new Bond game uses the COD4 engine, looks good and keeps the 'modern' weapons.

I couldnt imagine playing WaW multiplayer with WWII weapons, I need me trusted Red Dot Sight as I'm so bad without it!!

Bad Company kicks [MOD COMMENT: Swear word removed] ass. i had it for 3 months and got to somin like 5000th in the rankings. i love that game.

This is the first time ive seen something like this where i'd rather keep the original than buy the new 1 cos its genuinly better. Basically all your getting in WaW is a downgraded COD4. Its got the same graphics, controls etc but they just stripped away what was cool about it and replaced it with imo crappier stuff. All the weapons just bore me as ive used them 100 times befor in roughly 10 games and how many times do i have to win WW2 on my own befor the germans finally give up.

Their 1st mistake was sticking with the cod4 engine as that put them at a disadvantage straight away because people will quickly realise that the only difference is that 1 has cool weapons and cool missions and 1 has everything they've seen 100 times befor in a setting they've seen many-a-time befor. If they had used a different engine then maybe they would of shaken off the COD4 image and come back with something completely different and seperated themselves from cod4 and then people like me wouldnt be comparing the two and poking holes in WaW. I mean if you use the same engine as your predecessor then you have to make the missions, modes, MP etc brilliant and innovitive and they havnt done that imo. Well in MP they've got a carbon based copy of COD4 so why bother getting COD 5 i say. Maybe [MOD COMMENT: Derogatory word removed] will pretend to be dead and they'll hide up trees and the germans will screem at you as you run at them blindly in large numbers but you just cant put a price on COD4 missions with the SAS silently assaenating members of a container ship or storming an IT office with the Marines. Those are moments of gaming brilliance and we had never seen anything like it and thats why we loved it. I can relate to this warfare because i see modern warfare on the news all the time about conflicts that are happening now but WW2 has A. Got boring and B. Is unrealative to modern day life and thats why its imo not anywhere near as immersive as COD4 and thats where i feel the underlying problem is.

Cod 5 imo is a good game but at the end of the day you cant take cod4's engine and chuck in a WW2 setting and expect people to just fall in love with it because personally when i first realised that they used the same engine and played the beta i didnt give a monkeys about cod 5 atall and i just wanted to buy back cod 4 as i soon realised why the hell in this gaming season with many quality titles coming out, would i buy this game which is a mock up of a game i love dearly instead of getting fallout 3 or midnight club LA. It doesnt make any sence to get this 'version' of cod4 instead of something which deserves my money like Fallout. I mean if your loaded then go for it but i am not so i have to pick and choose what i want and what i want is to not waste £45 and something ive 50% already got. Also if IW bring out COD6 in 2010 then god help us all. That would make 2-3 years of development where imo they could bring it out in 2009 and people would love it

I'd like to know in what areas or in what specific moments people actually say to themsleves "This is better than COD4" because imo i just dont see how people can go and get this game when in essence they already have it. Ok many of you on here have played COD4 to death and are genuinly bored of the thing but i sold my copy in march after 5 months of intensive playing and am now coming to the point when i have the choice to buy either 4 OR 5 and im definetly getting 4. If they both came out at the same time and someone asked you which game was a year old i'd without hesitation say cod5. To the people who sold there COD4's months ago i'd say get 4 again and wait till you can get WaW pre-owned because if your wondering which game to get in november and you can only get 1 dont choose this over alot of other good game out there.
