Map glitching

Has anyone else here come across people glitching out of the Roundhouse map? They can somehow get underneath it,just below the surface. So you can't actually see or kill them. Why do people find the need to do it? I guess it's some kiddy who does the same on halo 3

Re: Map glitching

Yeah the glitchers are annoying.

To think, hours of testing before launch, it takes less than 3 days for the public to find them.

And they wont do anything bout it.... pants.

Re: Map glitching

Is it glitching? There are a few areas near the middle of the map that have large craters that are below ground level. Perhaps you were shot by someone in one of those. Just a thought.

Its glitching if you do it on purpose, its a bug if it happens by accident IMHO

Re: Map glitching

The rooftop thing on Castle is hardly glitching as it's a clean path of ledges. It's merely annoying as they have a wide view from up there.

I still haven't done any of these, but then, I've only had one session when I first got the beta - haven't been allowed to since!

Damned other half :'{

Do what I did, plug it into you computer monitor (assuming you have one), I just bought a 20" LCD the other week and to be honest I prefer it to using a large TV, though if my good lady decided to allow me to purchase a 60" plasma I may change my mind

The glitch in Roundhouse is a true glitch (you drop under the map through a small hole in a pile of bricks, this will soon be fixed) but getting onto the roof on Castel map is not a glitch. Getting out of maps is cheating but using your surroundings within a map to gain positions is part of game. There are so many places to get onto in maps (just like in COD4) you can find good vantage points. It all depends on your personal game play; some run round spraying bullets while others seek out good vantage spots and turning the map into a killing ground of the headless chickens running around aimlessly.

After years of online playing (mainly on the PC) I have personally accepted this as just part of the game. At least with console games you get FAR less of what could be classed as cheating, this is at the end of the day a game open to people not AI. People can and do think outside the box, AI are predictable and do what the programmers ask of them. The program writers them self flood all games with cheats to entertain themselves, you could class these as Easter eggs like on DVD’s. It just down to the individual to find them and use them.

Don’t get me wrong blatant cheating is not acceptable but using the map’s terrain to gain vantage points is fine by me.

Re: Map glitching

but does it look like on CoD you should be running round on those rooftops?

ok i understand how its done that you just run long a part of the map and it could be thought of as taking advantage of the map but its a glitch as unintended (as far as i know)

there was a lot of talk of an update coming out raising the ranks and sorting weapons and things out so hopefully the roundhouse glitch gets sorted out
as playing on a team on CTF with 2 friends and 3 random people the 3 random people were little kids that sat under the map doing nothing making it 3 vs 6

Re: Map glitching

I have made it HillSkill policy that anyone who ever kills me and is seen to be glitching on the killcam WILL get a complaint filed via the dashboard for cheating.
If we all are in agreement that these guys are ruining the game then we should all be filing complaints against anyone glitching. Microsoft will impose LIVE bans on people that receive a set amount of complaints so lets atleast start doing something about it. I know I sound like an "Grumpy Old-man" but that is what the feature is for.
Some lad was glitching all over Roundhouse last night yet I still got more kills than him.....Nugget !

Re: Map glitching

I suffered at the hands of a roundhouse glitcher too the other night. Earlier on that night i joined a room where in the lobby everybody agreed not to use the glitch. Fine i thought as at that point i didn't know where it was anyway.
Back to later on though and i found out where it was as i was shot by someone in the glitch. I watched it back on the killcam but didn't get the gamertag of the person glitching so went back to the same area where i was killed again. I duly remembered the GT and filed a complaint after the game. The worst thing about this player was that he went 5 kills and 7 deaths of which at least 2 kills were in the glitch.
I'm not the kind of guy that likes to indulge in slagging players off in the lobby but i so wanted to tell him how much he sucked.

Actually your wrong about the LIVE ban.You can file hundreds of complaints but each one is looked at by a human being and if the suspect is caught red handed then they are banned. If they went by your theory all those Americans kids who get there mates to file a complaint would get you banned but you have to be caught doing it.Most people get banned for profile offences as there easy to spot unlike glitching were they have to join your game and see it.

Re: Map glitching

actually there are some cases where it is bypassed to a ban the story i heard

there was a clan match set up between clan "A" nd "b" (a and b in this example to make it easy to tell)

only one person turned up from clan a but a whole team from caln b so they played the match, the one person won by a long way and did really well not pleasing clan b
at the end of a severe kicking clan b decided to file complaints against the clan a person, therefore clan a person was banned from live for a while
(though the clan a person and all his mates did it back nd the others got banned [do unto others huh?])

i agree with the file complaint idea and may start it but it should have been fixed now in the update

Calm down a little....

This is a BETA not a purchased finished copy, finding Glitches etc is what BETA is all about, some folks think it’s a free demo for themselves to enjoy. “anyone who ever kills me and is seen to be glitching on the killcam WILL get a complaint filed via the dashboard for cheating” . If you don’t like it don’t play the BETA!

Anyone who as the privilege to be invited into the BETA should just get on and play. This is what your there for, if you don’t then testing is a waste of time.

See you under Roundhouse .......

Again you’re just making yourself look silly. IT’ A BETA!!!!!!!!!!!! You will just get laughed at for trying.

If or should I say when they are found in the finished release then complain, but your forgetting that thousands of “Map Monkeys” spend hours looking for them. There are so many vantage points in COD4 that you can use if you can be bothered to find them, all of which are completely legal. COD5 will be just the same (on top of the roof in the Castel map for instance).

I too was fed up with the glitch on Roundhouse for about hooo 2 games, till I started having fun dropping under with them and giving them a taste of cold steel in the back.

By the way you can still get under the map, it takes 2 secs and your in lol
