Size does matter.

I am not one to moan lol but the magazine sizes for the guns in this game are terrible i though they were bad enough in cod 4. Even with extra magazines i run out cause of all the spraying i do i couldn't hit a barn door then when i do i run out of bullets only to get shot. Rant over for now lol i could of put it in the moan thread but i thought it was worthy of it's own thread

+1

You also get a satisfying "click" sound when you pick up more ammo.

Also firing in bursts of 1 or 2 bullets will reduce recoil no end thus improving your accuracy and ammo preservation. Just because it's full auto doesn't mean you have to keep the trigger held down

I got an 18 kills streak the other day with scavenger in my perks, in total I never got close to running out of ammo and picked up a total of 7 semtex grenades

I didn't realise you picked up grenades, I thought it just replenished the ammo in your main gun.

Yeah if you have used your grenade (be it frag or semtex) you will pick up another when you walk over a dead enemy (only works if you have used yours), I am pretty sure it happens every time.

So does the Scavenger perk pick up bullets from any dropped gun and add them to your magazine? It doesn't have to be the same gun.

Practice aiming and pick up a downed enemies weapon once yours is empty.

Thats right, any main weapon gun. I'm not entirely sure but I think if your enemy was using a secondary weapon at the time you shot them you won't pick up bullets unless you too have your secondary equipped, I could be wrong though

Brogan it don't work with noob tubes mate, already tried that

This is what puts me off using the SCAR, even though I really like the gun, as I run out of ammo very quickly. I guess the developers wanted to encourage people to use the machine guns if they wanted bigger magazines. Still a bit annoying, though.

once at level 40 you get the M16A4, i found that i dont use half as much ammo now, and if you hit the other player chest and above he usually gets nailed from your first burst, but you must be sure of your aiming using this weapon because if you miss with your first burst your usually dead by the time you offload your second

Is that with or without the stopping power perk? I'm a couple of levels off getting this gun, really looking forward to it now. Using the FAL at the moment due to the ammo issues.

that is with the stopping power perk for all my weapons, i completed the marksman challenge with the M4A1, SCAR-H and now with the M16, i found the M16 had a bit more grunt about it so if you have used the previous weapons that i mentioned without the perk you should still see a difference in the M16's power

Scavenger will replace everything.

It's great with claymores, I manage to lay them all over the map, it even stocks up my stinger.

Yeah the m16 is quality.

If you shoot on target they're pretty much dead.

As Kronenbourg said before, if you miss you're pretty much f****ed if the player you shot at is half decent.

To the op, I'd try using semi auto guns or single fire to get used to not spraying and praying.

Or use scavenger.

Or your last option is to pick other peoples guns up, you can replace your pistol with a gun you find, so you could have 2 assualt rifles for example.

Just unlocked it and it's awesome! Miles better than the FAL even without having unlocked the ACOG scope for it yet which I'm used to having on my guns. No ammo worries either.
